What is Juvederm?

Juvederm can be referred to as a group of hyaluronic acid injectables that is utilized to administer 9-12 months of aesthetic solution for people suffering from mild to severe fine lines and wrinkles. This injectable filler can also be used to enhance the fullness of lips. Compared to the hyaluronic acid that has a granular uniformity the juvederm has a smoother consistency. It has been manufactured using the Hylacross process that produces malleable and smoother wrinkle fillers. By injecting it on a particular location of our skin, it acts as temporary facial fillers that adds volume which makes the skin smooth and plump. An average person will only require a single treatment to achieve an optimal result.

What are the General Requirements of the Juvederm Treatment?

For the average requirement, the ideal patient for Juvederm XC needs to have certain dissatisfaction with his or her thinning lips, the visibility of skin folds and wrinkles. This aesthetic treatment is not recommended for pregnant and nursing women.

How Much Does Juvederm Cost?

The cost of Juvederm injections, when compared to other treatments such as plastic surgery, is fairly reasonable. The syringe used to inject the dermal fillers varies depending on the area of the face that will be injected. Smaller and delicate areas will customarily require a smaller amount of the fillers. For instance, a condition such as smile lines requires a significant amount of this dermal filler. Fine lines will only require a nominal amount of the product.

How Does Juvederm Work?

Naturally, the skin can produce hyaluronic acid; it is a sugar-based element that is accountable for the proper absorption of nutrients and moisture on our skin cells. This is mainly the reason why our skin looks plump and smooth. But as we age, our ability to produce an adequate amount of hyaluronic acid decreases which contributes to the production of wrinkles. When these wrinkle fillers have been injected into your sunken skin, it will replenish the lost hyaluronic acid and provide you more youthful looking skin.

What is the Recovery Process for This Aesthetic Process?

Believe it or not, this process does not come with a significant recovery time. However, it is recommended to avoid massaging the area injected for a few days, but you may still apply normal make-up on the area. You should also avoid getting directly exposed to extreme heat or cold or the rays of the sun for at least 2 weeks. Try to avoid products that contain alcohol when applying to your face. You should also apply sunscreen when going out.

What Happens After the Juvederm Treatment?

There are some doctors that will ask you to visit their clinics after a few days to examine if there are wrinkles and skin folds that may have been missed. As the months progress, the injected cosmetic fillers will be absorbed by your body. Fortunately, due to the consistency and the composition of Juvederm, it will integrate on your system slower than other products. This means that patient will be able to enjoy the results longer.

Juvederm treatments are approved by the FDA in at least 4 variations; Juvederm 30, 24HV, 24 and 18. This availability allows the attending physician to alter the treatment based on the specific needs of the patient.
