Smoothing Wrinkles Is Not The Only Use of Injectables

In fact, it is one of many. Most patients tend to think of injectables as being designed to simply cure fine lines and wrinkles. However, there are a wide range of reasons for them to be used. The most frequent requests once came from women who are over the age of 40. Now, these injections are sought after by patients of all ages. Patients between the ages of 20 and 40 regularly depend on these procedures.

This is known as “off label” usage of Botox and is helpful to patients who are looking to modulate their lower jaw, central law and neck bands. Off label dermal fillers come with even more uses, focusing on the midface, lips and the nasolabial folds.

What Are The Three Primary Injectable Types?
Jan 9 – Aug 11
The first category that needs to be considered are the neuromodulators. These injections are used as a means of paralyzing and weakening certain muscles in the face. Botox is the most common option that is chosen from this category but Dysport and Xeomin are also available. Leading dermatologists claim that this is the most popular form of treatment because it is simple and the results are immediately visible. You can contact SB Aesthetics Medical Spa for injectables https://sbaesthetics.com/dermal-fillers-in-santa-barbara/

Dermal fillers are the second category and they sit beneath the skin, providing volume. Many of these injections are based on HA and are used to augment the lips. Restylane, Juvederm and Radiesse are just a few of the options that you are going to have available to you. The third category is Kybella. This is a deoxycholic acid that is used by patients who are looking to dissolve fat deposits collected beneath the chin.

Non-Surgical Approaches to Facial Enhancement Without Injection

As Botox and facelifts continue to rise in popularity, there are a number of patients who contemplate the benefits of these treatments. Patients of all genders will rely on such treatments as they look to reverse the aging process. While facial injections and surgeries often provide the desired results, there are legitimate reasons to avoid such procedures.

Thanks to the advancements that have been made, patients now have the chance to choose from a wide range of non invasive procedures for facial enhancement without injection.

Let’s take a closer look at some of the best ways to renew facial appearance without surgical procedures or similarly invasive enhancements.

Laser Treatments

These are the top option for any patient looking to reverse the toll that the sun has taken on their skin. This method is time tested, safe and effective. The skin receives the necessary rejuvenation without having to resort to more invasive procedures. The skin is deeply penetrated, so that the collagen beneath the surface can be heated.

Once this collagen is heated, the skin becomes tighter. There is no cutting involved and these procedures offer long term benefits without being overly invasive. Laser skin resurfacing and laser hair removal both offer the necessary renewal.

Ultherapy Body Treatments

This facial re-invigoration procedure requires no needles and no surgery. Ultrasound energy is used to simulate collagen production. The skin under the chin, on the neck and on the eyebrow is lifted. This creates a more revitalized appearance. The treatment has been cleared by the FDA and allows the patient to enjoy a more youthful appearance within two to three months.

Chemical Peels

Dead skin is removed with the use of a chemical peel. This is a popular choice for patients looking to exfoliate. New skin is regenerated without the use of any invasive surgical procedures. Best of all, they are typically customized to match the patient’s skin type.
Sun spots, scarring, age spots and deep lines can all be treated with chemical peels. Be sure to consult with a medical professional to learn more about which chemical peels are best suited for your skin type.

Cosmic Dentistry

Sometimes, a patient may want to alter their smile. Our smiles are essentially our first impression and no one gets a second chance n this regard. In most cases, the smile can be transformed without any surgery or exposure to needles. Crowns and bridges, dental bonding, teeth whitening and veneers improve oral health considerably. Intense surgeries are no longer required.

Patients who are looking to enhance their appearance without the use of injections or invasive surgeries can enjoy the peace of mind that the aforementioned procedures have to offer. The changes that you have been longing for have never been easier to come by. Thanks to these non surgical procedures, patients experience new life and total safety.

11 Things You Need To Know About Juvéderm Injections https://sbaesthetics.com/juvederm-treatments/ https://sbaesthetics.com/juvederm-treatments/#respond Tue, 11 Sep 2018 21:41:31 +0000 http://sbaesthetics.com/?p=8190 Within our Juvéderm community, a lot of men and women return to their experiences and state, “I wish I’d known…” some advice before undergoing this filler therapy. The post 11 Things You Need To Know About Juvéderm Injections appeared first on SB Aesthetics.

]]>
Within our Juvéderm community, a lot of men and women return to their experiences and state, “I wish I’d known…” some advice before undergoing this filler therapy. Listed below are 11 things you need to know before getting Juvéderm treatments from RealSelf community members you might discover helpful.

1. Juvéderm treatments are for fine lines and wrinkles… .and often more.

Lots of men and women utilize Juvéderm to deal with lines and wrinkles. However there are several other reasons to choose it: acne scars, lifting the lips, filling sagging or loose skin to get a general younger appearance (“a liquid facelift”), altering the nose contour, to acquire plumper lips, as well as medical ailments such as lipodystrophy (that leads to the reduction of fat in the face).

“I have thin lips and desired a bit more volume, particularly within my upper lip. I’d more injected into the body of my lips rather than the border so that they seemed more natural, maybe not odd like they could look if a lot of is about the vermilion border. Juvéderm is ideal for this and gave me my fantasy lips! They seem really natural and luscious. The only downside is that they can bruise and swell somewhat but it’s readily masked with gloss or lipstick. Get Juvéderm Ultra Plus that lasts somewhat more,” says neighborhood member lovelace493 in a recent RealSelf review.

2. The best way to decide on an injector

You will find a number of health care providers that will inject Juvéderm. The first consultation should be with a certified and board-certified physician, but in a few workplaces, a nurse or aesthetician does the real injection. You shouldn’t try to purchase or inject Juvéderm yourself.

“It isn’t merely against the legislation, it’s very dangerous as the effectiveness of this drug and injection technique can’t be guaranteed. Watch a certified medical practitioner who’s supervised by a board-certified plastic surgeon or surgeon, no exceptions.”

Additionally, “I chose to not take any shortcuts so that I moved into a plastic surgeon and had the first consultation five weeks ago. The real shots were performed by a nurse. This concerned me somewhat but she does all the time and can be trained and trained in them so that I guessed it would be better to pick expertise above a name (RN vs MD),” states kittyblue399 in a recent RealSelf review.

3. Are Juvéderm injections painful?

The Juvéderm XC injections are done with a local anesthetic. Another choice is to get a dental block completed.

“I had been regularly performing a nerve block (dental cube ) to get Juvéderm treatments, which actually increases the comfort level for those patients. Since Juvéderm introduced its XC formulas, that contain lidocaine to immediately numb as it is injected, I discover I am performing the dental cubes less often. Nevertheless, every individual differs, and in addition, it depends upon where they’re being recovered and just how much,” states Dr. Robert Sheffield, a plastic surgeon at SB Aesthetics in Santa Barbara, CA.

4. Some of the ways to decrease swelling and bruising.

Juvéderm treatments usually lead to some swelling and bruising, which may last up to 2 weeks. Bruising will finally go away, however, there are a number of things you can do to lessen it.

Before your therapy, here is what to prevent :”You are able to minimize your inclination to bruise by preventing aspirin, NSAIDs, fish oil, alcohol (vasodilator), along with the ‘G’ nutritional supplements (garlic, ginkgo biloba, ginseng) for 10 days before your process,” states Dr. Sheffield.

5. Don’t worry, tiny lumps and bumps are typically normal and short-term

It is common to have little lumps or bumps the first-week following shots. If it doesn’t go out in a week, then your supplier may use heat or massage to smooth it out.

“It’d be best in the event that you reserve a follow-up appointment with your injector in one or two weeks, and he/she can massage any remaining lumps or bumps at that moment.

The majority of individuals don’t want other people to see them together with swelling and lumps.

6. There is a recovery period

Even though Juvéderm treatments are a non-surgical procedure, there will be a period of recovery. As a patient, you typically will want to wait a period for the injections to settle and smooth out.

“Next time I’ve Juvéderm injections it’s going to be prior to a two-week holiday. I went to focus on the fourth-afternoon post-injection. I had been miserable about the conspicuous bruising in the office,” says SB8746 in a recent RealSelf review.

7. How long do I have to wait before getting any other facial procedures or treatments?

A lot of men and women who get Juvéderm treatments will also be interested in getting a different facial treatment–something such as a laser therapy, a chemical peel, or microdermabrasion. Most physicians within this RealSelf Q&A advocate waiting a week following Juvéderm before undergoing any additional therapy.

“You ought to wait at least a couple of days following all filler shots prior to any facial remedies that will place pressure on skin since most of the fillers are somewhat simmer for many days,” states Dr. Sheffield.

8. Is Juvéderm FDA approved and is it really a safe product to inject?

Juvéderm is widely considered secure. “Juvéderm is an FDA-approved hyaluronic acid which has an established history of safety. I have been utilizing Juvéderm successfully within my personal practice for a couple of decades, and that my patients are extremely pleased with their outcomes. I advise you to specify a consultation appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your alternatives and concerns.

9. There is a way to reverse the injection with hyaluronidase.

If the outcomes of Juvéderm aren’t what you desired, there’s a reversible option: it could be dissolved with a shot of hyaluronidase. It speeds up the natural breakdown of lipoic acid, the chemical which Juvéderm is made from.

“Another physician superficially injected Juvéderm from the tear trough area and, consequently, I’d cushions or bags under my eyes. I’d hyaluronidase injected from the tear trough region by a really competent dermatologist to fix the mistake. He injected a unit for the two eyes and I instantly saw the result in minutes. The totes flattened out, and at the time that I went home, which had been approximately two hours, all of the bags had vanished. Says seemore871 in a recent RealSelf review.

10. Just how long do Juvéderm treatments last?

Nobody can tell you just how long Juvéderm treatments will last, but normally they are in the range of six months to annually. “It actually depends upon the area injected, how much of the product injected, and also how fast your body metabolizes,” states Dr. Sheffield.

“I expect the results are as durable as it states… .up into annually. My doctor said that I might require a touch up after four weeks or so, however, we’d need to wait and watch. Various individuals have different longevity phases for this, but no matter I am in love with this material!” Alexandra Hamilton in a recent RealSelf review.

11. Was it worthwhile in the end?

Expectations and outcomes change, but many RealSelf community members are pleased with the outcomes of Juvéderm: it’s a RealSelf Worth It Rating of 92%.

“I’ve always lacked from the eyebrow area and has been afraid to get any augmentation, believing it’d leave me disfigured. After hearing Juvéderm and meeting some men and women who’ve experienced the process I decided to jump in with both feet. Wow! I could not be more happy with the outcome and the supplier which I chose to proceed with,” states Susan Marleau in a recent RealSelf review.

A “Liquid Lift” includes an assortment of different filler and injectable products to provide a smoother, fuller, more line-free appearance to the skin. Dr. Robert Sheffield of SB Aesthetics in Santa Barbara, CA who treated Maggie, wanted to completely rejuvenate, improve contour and create a fuller face. “She has great skin, but incorporating just a small volume to a number of the regions where she is a tiny hollow made a big difference.”

Cheeks

“I have noticed through the years my lips have begun to appear hollow. My face is obviously small and because I have lost quantity within the years I believed that the extra fullness will make me seem.”

I opted to ditch the midface using Juvéderm Voluma, which gave her the ideal quantity of quantity and took that sunken look.”

What the individual states: “I feel as I’ve my lips back! When the filler depended, it was astonishing to observe how my lips had just the ideal amount of quantity. They do not seem cuter, rather obviously fuller.

Eyes

“I really wish to be eloquent round my eyes and eliminate the small lines. However, I want to have the ability to reveal saying in my head when I laugh or grin”

Exactly what the doctor says: “To be able to provide a much better shape to her brows and open her eyes, then I injected Botox into her crow’s feet and between her forehead. This relaxes the muscles which form frown wrinkles and lines, and the ones that pull down the eyebrow. Filling the area together with Restylane provides contour, decreasing the hollows and altering the shape of her face, also.”

What the individual states: “I really like it! I am so smooth around my eyes but still possess motion over my eyebrows so that I do not possess that frozen-looking face. Filling the hollowness within my temples gave me a much softer appearance. It is a delicate and subtle difference”

RELATED: HOW JUVEDERM CAN HELP YOU IMPROVE YOUR YOUTH AND BEAUTY

Nose

“I’ve always hated my nose for my profile.

I evened it out using Juvéderm Voluma, altering the shape of her nose by massaging it and giving it a lift. Her nose is defined and straighter.”

What the individual states: “I never believed to possess filler injected in my nose.

Chin

In her profile, it is possible to see her chin is a bit less defined. Rather than working with a surgical augmentation to make it look more in equilibrium, I utilized Perlane, a filler that is thick, put deep inside the epidermis, and this works best with this particular area. It sculpts the chin for total balance to your face.”

What the individual states: “I had not actually considered correcting my chin. Seeing my elbows more in equilibrium with the rest of my head makes a huge difference. There is clearly a science to making equilibrium with subtleties and I am blessed that my doctor managed to keep a natural appearance.”

RELATED: 17 THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE GETTING DYSPORT INJECTIONS

Lips

I didn’t wish to fortify them but instead, keep the proportions. I used a small quantity of Juvéderm Voluma within her lips. A reason the lips lean is that of a reduction in estrogen. Only a small filler rolls out them so that they seem complete and defined.”

Exactly what the individual states: “I had been somewhat worried about getting my lips done since I have seen so many poor outcomes and did not wish to seem like this. After I saw just how a bit of filler would add definition to that which I had, I had been sold.”

Outcomes

Juvéderm Voluma, a hyaluronic acid, is FDA-approved to include immediate volume into the cheek region. “It works well to even from the slopes and hills that are typical of their cheeks,” states Dr. Sheffield. Additionally a hyaluronic acid, Restylane includes big sized particles, which can be why it is excellent for treating severe wrinkles and healing areas which have to be recovered deeply.

A”Liquid Lift” doesn’t remove extra skin, tighten skin or offer long-term outcomes. “Liquid Lift” results continue on average for approximately one year. Some regions might begin to revert back to baseline faster than others based upon the filler used, just how much filler has been injected and how heavy the item has been injected.

We can all point out individuals who’ve skidded over the border with injectable processes — illustrations of too much of a fantastic thing. An excessive amount of botulinum toxin, like Botox, can create static expressions; a lot of plumping using a volumizing filler can make your eyebrow balloon.

Going in the wrong direction

*You feel happy about a great noodle result which you simply throw all caution to the wind and perform each injectable process at the same time.

*You follow attractiveness styles. High, too prominent cheeks are the rage. If you never needed them and attempt to get them, then they will likely appear artificial.

*Body dysmorphic disorder, a pathological preoccupation with a body area without any flaw or a small problem, can direct one to seek out excess injectable and surgical processes. (A board-certified plastic surgeon is trained to observe this issue and will probably put on the wheels )

RELATED: HOW TO HAVE A FANTASTIC BOTOX TREATMENT WITH MINIMAL SPENDING

Steps to avoid overusing injectables

*Have a sensible aesthetic aim, like attempting to erase a couple of decades, instead of 20. If you would like to reset your era, target for five decades younger. If you attempt to exceed that limit, then you will likely appear artificial.

*Take your time and don’t experience a lot of processes at the same time. Do little things as time passes and you’ll seem like a much better version of yourself.

*Function with a single physician who understands where you began from instead of using numerous physicians and having many palms increase the accumulative work.

Cosmetic surgeon Haideh Hirmand asks individuals to deliver photographs to their own consultations, one from every decade. Surprisingly, she believes 75 percent of these seem better today, with much more adult angular characteristics, than they did previously. She states that after analyzing the images many individuals agree that they did not enjoy their earlier”baby fat”

If you are overusing injectables, don’t panic

Hyaluronidase is your magic bullet stashed off in many plastic surgeon’s offices. This naturally occurring receptor, which is deemed secure, may dissolve hyaluronic-acid fillers such as Restylane, Juvederm, and Belotero, restoring you back to your previous self. But if you’re injected with non-hyaluronic acid-based fillers such as Radiesse and Sculptra, then you need to wait for them to dissipate by themselves.

Aristotle might have experienced injectables in mind when he composed, “Moderation in everything ” Bear this in mind and also a board-certified plastic surgeon will make you seem like a better version of you.

PREPARED TO REJUVENATE YOUR FACE?

Wondering if not overusing injectables like Botox and fillers may enable you to get the refreshed appearance you desire? To find out contact Dr. Sheffield, a board certified plastic surgeon, to discuss your questions and find out about all of your choices with a customized treatment plan –and that is precisely what you will receive through a cosmetic consultation at SB Aesthetics. Call us at 805.318.3280 or contact us online to schedule an appointment.

Dermal Fillers Santa Barbara

Dr. Sheffield is a prominent Santa Barbara plastic surgeon who specializes in injectable fillers and non-surgical facial rejuvenation. Some of our patients have brought forth interesting and detailed questions about dermal fillers, otherwise known as cosmetic fillers of facial fillers.

: How Much Bruising Should I Expect from Under Eye Filler Injections?

How bad is the bruising under the eye area after filler injections are done? Do I need to take time off work?

: Thank you for that question. Bruising is a possible after effect which you could get from undergoing filler treatments. Actually, bruising is a possible after effect of any kind of injection especially if it is done under the eyes. The main reason for this is that the skin under the eyes is quite thinner compared to other parts of the body. Fortunately, bruising can still be avoided, if you do proper after treatment care as well as if you select an experienced and skilled injector such as a board certified plastic surgeon. The skill of the injector is very important as your injector can avert or prevent possible after effects if he is experienced enough.

Related: ASK DR. SHEFFIELD – WHAT IS THE BEST DERMAL FILLER FOR CHIN/JAW AUGMENTATION?

For after care maintenance, you can ice the injection site after the treatment. However, do not apply the ice directly on your skin to avoid burns. In addition, avoid products that can thin your blood prior and after the procedure so that bruising may be prevented. Such medications would include aspiring, Coumadin, vitamin E, anti-inflammatory medications, and the likes.

Bruising will usually subside on its own. It may last anywhere within 24 to 48 hours or a max of 7 to 10 days. If bruising persists longer, you may want to contact your surgeon for a follow up checkup. Hope this answers your question!

What is the Best Dermal Filler for Chin/jaw Augmentation?

I have been considering a chin/jaw augmentation and wanted to know what are the best/longest lasting fillers to use. Also can all the dermal fillers be applied thru a microdroplet technique(like silikon 1000), or are some fillers less precise and have to be applied a different way, thanks

: Thank you for your interest. If you are looking to have a jaw or chin augmentation, fillers can be the perfect solution. Volume in the chin or jaw area can be sustained by using hyaluronic acid dermal fillers. One hyaluronic acid dermal filler that can be used would be Restylane. Restylane gives a natural looking result as well as exude a smooth and feminine like appearance. Aside from Restylane, you may also use Juvederm Voluma. Juvederm Voluma is considered as a volumizing produce having a higher density. It also has a soft result while contouring the area perfectly. The result also looks natural.

: Can Injectable Fillers Be Used on Crow’s Feet?

: Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, dermal fillers can be used for improving crow’s feet and there are a number of fillers, which can do the job. In my practice, I usually make use of Juvederm or Restylane. Others may also have Belotero and Teosyal in their list. All these fillers can help in smoothening out the fine lines and wrinkles that are observable even when your face is relaxed. Other than fillers, you can also opt for Botox to soften up Crow’s Feet that appear when you smile. At times, Botox and fillers are used to together to address Crow’s Feet that appear when you are smiling and when your face is relaxed to achieve a more youthful appearance.

: How Do I Get Rid of Wrinkle Filler if I Don’t Like the Results?

I read that injectables can be extracted from the skin if you don’t like the results. How is this possible? Laverné from Indianapolis, IN

: That is a good question. Yes, it is possible to remove some fillers once they are already injected in your face. Dermal fillers that have hyaluronic acid base such as Restylane, Juvederm, Perlane, and Teosyal can be removed by dissolving them using an enzyme called Hyaluronidase. This is the reason why many patients and doctors use hyaluronic acid dermal fillers – they are very easy to dissolve should there be an issue or if the patient is not satisfied with the result. On the other hand, permanent fillers like collagen filler, can be removed by excising them surgically. Other fillers like Radiesse, Artefill, and Sculptra do not contain hyaluronic acid. They are composed of various substances making the reversal quite difficult and challenging to perform. Extracting the fillers would be the only option available for these fillers. Unfortunately, even with the option to extract, success is still not guaranteed, as extraction may sometimes not work out well.

I would highly recommend a thorough discussing with your board certified plastic surgeon prior to getting a filler treatment. Discuss your options and open up the possibility of getting a reversal in case you are unhappy with the result. Best of luck!
