Facial Rejuvenation Treatments

There is no such as the “right age” when it comes to scheduling a face lift. Everyone’s decision making process is going to be much different in this regard. Before deciding on a face lift, the person must take the time to look in the mirror and evaluate their personal appearance.

Those who decide to embark on the facial rejuvenation treatments journey without the use of a face lift can utilize any number of treatments. If you are after a more youthful look and do not wish to schedule a face lift, these treatments can offer the necessary assistance.

Contemplating Facelift

Wrinkles and fine lines appear more often as we age. The effects that are caused by the passage of time are difficult to ignore. Direct exposure to the elements can hasten this process. While there is no “right” or “wrong” time to consider a face lift, there are some who may decide that a mini face lift is the best choice.

Most start to consider the benefits of a face lift when they are in their 30’s or 40’s. A full face lift is a more invasive procedure and it is easy to see why the mini face lift is chosen by so many. The results are more limited but the patient’s appearance is more youthful.

Laser Skin Resurfacing

This is a treatment that has grown in popularity. If fine lines and wrinkles need to be smoothed out, this nonsurgical method can work wonders. Acne scars, sagging skin, age spots and sun damage are also treated with laser skin resurfacing. Procedures of this nature are designed to heat the skin and spur the collagen beneath the surface into action. This procedure will also even out the texture of the skin.

Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty

The rhinoplasty (also known as a “nose job”) is a common procedure for patients looking to repair a deviated septum or correct their improper breathing. Meanwhile, dermal fillers are considered to be a popular alternative because they allow patients to avoid a more serious surgical commitment. In some instances, the patient can receive a dermal filler during their lunch break and head right back to the office.

Injectable Fillers

Injectable fillers are the top choice for any patient that is looking to restore their volume. Deep facial creases are treated with the use of injectable fillers and best of all, there is vert little downtime. Patients resume their normal routine once the procedure is complete.

Eyelid Surgery

Upper eyelid skin naturally begins to droop during the aging process. In extreme cases, the loss of elasticity makes it harder for the patient to see. Thanks to eyelid surgery, this area can be restored. Sagging skin, puffy skin and wrinkles are also addressed.

While it is not always easy to decide on the proper age for a face lift, each patient must make a choice that they can feel comfortable with. Be sure to take a closer look at each of the aforementioned procedures, so that you can choose the one that is best for you.

The very first step of your eyelid surgery journey is to select the ideal plastic surgeon. This is certainly not something you wish to rush to, take a while to do your homework in your home, narrow your search down and schedule an appointment with your top choice or two.

Throughout your eyelid surgery appointment, inquire the number of blepharoplasty surgeries he or she’s completed, and inquire about credentials such as board certification with the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery.  If you get this one wrong it will be an uphill battle.  This is number one on our list of what you need to know before having eyelid surgery.

Eyelid surgery remains a surgical procedure, so plan on taking time off work and other actions to rest and recuperate. The majority of individuals can return to work in 10 to 14 days following blepharoplasty, however, you need to be able to read in only a couple of days, go right ahead and knock out some books in your reading list as you recover.

4. You’ll Need to Wait a Bit Before Using Cosmetics or Contacts

To accelerate your eyelid surgery restoration, you ought to prevent wearing makeup and contact lenses for the first fourteen days following the operation. Try not to scratch or rub your eyes or eyes place during this time period. This should help to decrease swelling and guarantee top quality outcomes.

5. Swelling and Redness is Normal

You may also see that your eyes are more sensitive to light than normal or feel itchy and dry. All these are normal side effects and should gradually deteriorate over the upcoming days and weeks since you continue to heal.

6. You Will Still Look Like Your Old Self, Just a Newer, Fresher, Younger One

In reality, acquaintances and friends may not even realize you have had any surgery in any way, but they may ask exactly what you’ve been doing to seem new and recharged.

7. It Will Take About 12 Months, But Your Final Results Will Be Realized

Even though you need to be able to return to your regular routine after the initial two weeks or so, your eyelid operation outcomes are still likely to require a while to completely develop. It may take swelling a few months to completely subside, so plan in your last outcome slowly showing themselves in six months into a year following your blepharoplasty.

Facial Aging

Have you ever looked at a picture of a person when they are 20 and compared it to when they are in their 40s or 50s?

You may observe there are noticeable changes in the individual’s look, but it can be hard to decipher just what is distinct about her or him.

As it happens, there are numerous different facial aging changes which happen in the face for an individual as the age. Recognizing these changes are and why they occur can help you know what to do to change them.

Sagging or Droopy Eyelids

Whenever someone gets older, extra skin in particular regions of the face often leads to droopiness or sagging. Blepharoplasty, or an upper eyelid lift, is one of the surgical approaches for facial aging to fix droopiness by taking away the additional skin, fat, and muscle, as required, to provide an individual a brighter, more wide-eyed, refreshed appearance.

If you have ever looked at someone and noticed cheeks which appear hollow or quite noticeable folds around the mouth, then you have seen droopiness that happens from the anus region. If folks get old, they tend to lose excess weight and quantity in the cheeks, making the skin in that region looser and saggier. Wrinkles become more clear and the lips have a tendency to get a deflated appearance.

RELATED: HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT FACIAL REJUVENATION PROCEDURE

One temporary approach to correct drooping from the cheeks is using a filler like Juvederm Voluma. Volume plumps up the cheek region working with a thick type of ellagic acid. The treatment outcomes often last for approximately two decades and may be repeated if desired. A longer-lasting cure for a reduction of volume in the cheek region and relevant droopiness may be a midface lift, which concentrates on tightening loose skin from the anus region.

Frequently, the tip of the nose starts to droop longer as individuals get older. Even though you may not consider rhinoplasty within an anti-aging process, there are times when it may take years from your physical appearance and thus enhance the appearance of facial aging.

Discoloration of the Skin

Quite a few things may result in discoloration, and in the cumulative effects of sunlight exposure to fluctuations in hormone levels.

Dark spots are only one kind of discoloration which could happen as you get older during the facial aging process. Your epidermis also tends to eliminate some of its own protective barriers, therefore it may be more inclined to turn reddish or to appear bloated. Sun damage may also bring about redness.

RELATED: FULL FACE OR MINI FACELIFT SURGERY?

Another kind of discoloration which could grow as you get older is that the formation of dark circles under the eyes. Dark circles may form for any range of factors. When aging is part of this equation, a frequent cause of dark circles is frequently a thinning of your epidermis at the undereye area. Many people today discover they can decrease the look of the dark circles by means of fillers that are carefully injected into the undereye area by a trained facial plastic surgeon.

Thining and the Loss of Volume

The lips are not the sole area of the facial skin to lose volume or fat with age. The lips can also narrow as people get old. There are lots of approaches to decrease the appearance of aging, thin lips or even to restore quantity.

Presently, a remarkably common choice is to add volume to your lips with hyaluronic acid fillers, for example, Juvederm or Restylane.  These dermal fillers offer a boost in the quantity which lasts for approximately six to nine months. Just how long that the fillers continue is dependent in part on the manufacturer and on the individual. Some people today metabolize the injectables faster so their results do not last very long. The fantastic thing is that you are able to replicate the injection should you want to keep the revived fullness of the lips.

TREATMENTS FOR THE SIGNS OF AGING AROUND EYES

They’re the windows into the soul.  They’re one of the first things people notice about us. You can tell exactly what an individual’s really believing and thinking about by looking into her or his eyes.

What are your own eyes broadcasting to everyone around you? The skin around the eyes is thinner and more fragile than the skin on the rest of the face as well as other regions of the human body. That means it is more vulnerable to the symptoms of aging, from the crepey skin into crinkly lines at the eye region. Many people today develop dark circles hollows and many others wind up with bloated bags under their eyes.  It happens to everyone, these signs of aging around eyes are inevitable.

RELATED: HOW TO MAKE YOUR EYES AMAZING AND STUNNING

Regardless of signs of aging around eyes, you are dealing with currently, there is a cosmetic treatment or procedure which will help to minimize and possibly reverse it. Your choices range from surgery to non-surgical injections. Some at-home care may also help lessen the signs of aging around eyes.

EYELID SURGERY

If you frequently get told you that you seem exhausted, blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery, may be an alternative for you. Eyelid surgery can eliminate droopy, extra skin on the upper lids and will help remove puffiness or bags in the reduced eye area. Whether you’ve got the operation on either upper or lower lids is dependent upon what you require and what you would like to escape the operation.

RELATED: WHAT EYELID LIFT SURGERY CAN DO FOR YOU AND WHY IT CONSISTENTLY IS A TOP CHOICE

An eyebrow lift is generally a fast process, requiring approximately an hour into an hour-and-a-half to finish. You will probably get either local anesthesia or of general anesthesia during the procedure, depending on whether you are doing upper or lower eyelids.  Recovery following the operation is pretty brief, and you may be back in the office in a few days to a week.

BOTOX

Botox isn’t just for 11’s lines or vertical forehead lines. Injections can also be used to diminish the appearance of crow’s feet, which are the wrinkles that appear from smiling or squinting at the corners of the eyes.

Crow’s feet gets its name because they look just like small birds’ feet in the corners of their eyes. Lowering the volume you squint or transfer your eyes might help prevent the lines from forming, however, for a lot of patients, changing this behavior is not very effective. Botox helps to lessen the look of lines made by muscle moves by temporarily blocking the nerve signals that achieve those muscles.

RELATED: HOW DO YOU FIND A YOUTHFUL LOOK FOR THE AGING EYELID?

You will still have the ability to open and shut your eyes and create facial expressions following Botox. Nevertheless, the subtle movements which give rise to crow’s feet will probably be obstructed, and so the lines will probably fade away or diminish a couple of days following the injection. Normally, the results last 3-4 months, before the Botox wears off. If you like the results, you are able to get repeat injections to maintain your crow’s feet from returning.

TEAR TROUGH UNDER EYE INJECTIONS

As you get older, you lose volume and collagen in the face. For many patients, a reduction of volume in the under eye area could produce a hollow-eyed appearance or create dark circles more noticeable. Replenishing the volume loss in the under eye area can help decrease the look of dark circles and also make the eyes seem less hollow.

RELATED: HOW ARE COSMETIC FILLERS REDEFINING EYE REJUVENATION?

One approach to restore lost volume would be to use an injectable filler.  There are a few choices in regards to the type of filler which may decrease dark circles and hollowness. Fillers such as Juvederm and Restylane are made from hyaluronic acid while some others, like Sculptra, are produced from a synthetic substance, polylactic acid. Which injection is best for you depends upon a range of factors, such as how long you would like the results to continue. Your Santa Barbara plastic surgeon will be able to help you opt for the most suitable choice for your requirements.

EYE CREAM

Though particular cosmetic treatments may be helpful in regards to reducing or diminishing the signs of aging around eyes, do not dismiss the value of an ounce of prevention. Employing eye lotion in your home can keep the skin around your eyes moisturized. Based on the components that they contain, a few eye lotions can help decrease wrinkles or simply help to whiten the epidermis, so that dark circles are somewhat less notable.

4 WAYS TO PROLONG SURGICAL RESULTS

Whenever you opt to get facial plastic surgery, whether it’s blepharoplasty, a mini facelift, or a different procedure, you are making the choice to invest in yourself completely. Surgery includes a higher price tag compared to less invasive alternatives and also generally means more of a time commitment on your part. The biggest upside is that outcomes from surgery often persist considerably more compared to the results that you would receive from a non-invasive or minimally invasive option.

Being aware of what you could do to prolong surgical results can allow you to enjoy the benefits of your process for as long as you can.

RELATED: 5 WAYS TO GET RID OF FINE LINES TO GIVE YOU BEAUTIFUL HEALTHY SKIN

GET RID OF BAD HABITS AND GET HEALTHY

Particular habits have a means of speeding up the aging process, which may have a negative impact on your physical appearance and in your surgical outcomes. For instance, smoking is among the top causes of wrinkles and signs of baldness.

Should you smoked before the operation, it is very possible that you needed to take a rest in the habit for a couple of weeks before and afterward. Why don’t you make use of that fracture as a chance to cut the custom for good? Should you take up smoking after surgery, you will in certain ways be undoing the outcomes of the process.

While drinking alcohol does not have the exact same exact effects as smoking, it really does dry out the skin and can make you appear older, particularly in the event that you drink to excess. You do not need to give your twice-a-week or so glass of wine, but it may be worth your while to restrict the amount you drink to make the most of your outcomes.  Removing the unhealthy habits is a great thing you can do to prolong surgical results.

RELATED: THE REALITIES OF THE MINI FACE LIFT RECOVERY

IF YOU’RE GOING IN THE SUN, LIMIT YOUR EXPOSURE

Like smoking, sunlight’s UV rays are another significant source of wrinkles and other signs of aging. Minimizing your sun exposure by wearing a sunscreen every day and by restricting the time you spend outside when the sun reaches its most extreme, can allow you to lengthen your outcomes.

It is especially important that you reduce sunlight exposure right after the operation as soon as your skin is still recovering from the process. Incision wounds and sites are extremely vulnerable to damage from sunlight. If you are not cautious, the incision site can get dark or stained, which makes scarring more observable.

WATCH YOUR DIET, FEED YOUR BODY THE PROPER NUTRIENTS

Everything you eat has a direct impact on how you are feeling and how well the system performs. If it’s possible, limit the number of sweets and simple carbohydrates in your diet plan.

Making certain that you get loads of antioxidants and other vitamins in your daily diet is also a fantastic idea if you would like to keep youthful appearing skin care for as long as you can. The exact same is true for obtaining enough wholesome fats and lean protein. Bear in mind that collagen, the substance that helps keep skin smooth and firm, is a kind of protein.

Your diet plan may not require a full overhaul, but it may be well worth it to concentrate on eating more whole foods, like fruits, vegetables, whole grains and lean proteins instead of quick-and-easy processed foods and foods. Getting healthy is one of the primary things you can do to prolong surgical results.

RELATED: 4 REASONS WHY A FACELIFT MAY NOT BE THE ANSWER FOR YOU

GET COMPLIMENTARY OR TOUCH-UP TREATMENTS

Based on the procedure you decide on, results may last for a decade or more. That does not indicate that your face will not last to age, however. Furthermore, different sections of your face, which were not influenced by the operation, might start to demonstrate their particular signs of aging.  Utilizing other procedures in tandem with your surgery can definitely prolong surgical results.

One approach to take care of time marching on would be to contemplate nonsurgical treatments to keep your results to “touch up” outcomes as needed. For instance, if you had a facelift, a liquid facelift many years down the line could be exactly what you want to minimize any wrinkles or lines which have grown in the meantime.

In the event that you had a forehead lift, Botox injections to smooth frown or forehead lines can help lengthen your operation effects.

Along with non-surgical, in-office treatments, taking excellent care of your skin in your home may make it possible for you to enjoy the effects of your plastic surgery for as long as you can. Your plastic surgeon may make recommendations regarding the kinds of cleansers and other skin care products to attempt.

The post What Eyelid Lift Surgery Can Do for You and Why It Consistently is A Top Choice appeared first on SB Aesthetics.

]]>
The 2016 stats for aesthetic plastic surgery are in, and there a boom in butt lifts and lifts in non-surgical treatments, but there is a constant winner that we should not dismiss: the eyelid lift surgery! This past year, it hit #4 together with almost 174,000 procedures done.

Does eyelid lift surgery consistently top the charts regarding both procedures performed and individual satisfaction (did we say that eyelid operation has a 94% Worth It score on RealSelf)? Let us look at some reasons that this traditional surgery remains a top choice:

Eyelid lift surgery is the only procedure to efficiently address bloated or drooping eyelids.

The prevalence of eyelid operation has remained steadily high throughout the past couple of decades mainly because there is not another process that may effectively eliminate excess, sagging skin in the upper lids. Blepharoplasty remains the best method to fix a plethora of issues brought on by drooping eyelids, like a persistently drowsy look or obstructed area of vision.

Similarly, lower eyelid surgery is the only method to sculpt away the surplus, subcutaneous fat to decrease puffiness in the lower lids, an often-bothersome hereditary trait.

“I just feel so young again …it really has given me a refreshed look. My eyes no longer look tired.”

~ SB Aesthetics Patient ~

You can make stunning updates to your look with subtle changes

Your eyes are often the first thing people see about you personally, and their look communicates your emotions as ardently as the words you speak. If sagging cells are causing your eyes to seem tired or haggard, simply lifting the top eye with some millimeters, or reducing puffiness and extra skin of the lower eyelid may offer a more youthful, brighter appearance to the full face.

“Being a man I was not convinced of this entire ‘cosmetic’ surgery thing, but in 47 years old that I was not getting any younger-looking. I had bags under my eyes because of heredity that made me seem much older, so I made an appointment with Dr. Sheffield who was able to see me within a week…My results are excellent and certainly surpassed my expectations”

~ SB Aesthetics Patient ~

Surgery requires less than one hour and blepharoplasty restoration is amazingly manageable.

An experienced plastic surgeon is only going to remove a very small quantity of fat and skin throughout the operation (check out our eyelid surgery guide for information on how the process is done ). Therefore, eyelid operation is normally very simple on the individual from a relaxation and healing perspective.

Though your eyes will tire easily for a week or 2 weeks following blepharoplasty, you’ll have the ability to see instantly after the operation –your eyes aren’t bandaged shut. Most patients return to work within the first week, possibly with camouflage makeup to help hide any residual swelling –incisions are made in the eyelid crease or within the lid, so they are practically undetectable when your eyes are still open, even only days following the operation. While outcomes adapt subtlety in as soon as 8 weeks, many eyelid lift surgery patients are photo-ready over 3 to 4 weeks.

An eyelid lift may be the ideal complement to your facelift, brow lift or other procedure –without further downtime.

While many patients are happy with an eyelid lift independently, it is often performed in conjunction with a facelift or brow lift surgery to reach a smooth forehead-to-chin rejuvenation. In reality, getting eyelid operation in precisely the exact same time as such other facial surgeries may enhance your long-term outcome, as the plastic surgeon may “reset the aging clock” to the same “period” throughout your face, in order for your lips, eyes, and jawline continue to endure at a similar rate. Alternately, dermal fillers can improve eyelid operation results without further operation by plumping the lips or smoothing lines and creases through the face.

Will an eyelid lift surgery help me look younger?

Given all these advantages of eyelid operation, it can look like anyone wanting to appear younger may utilize an eyelid lift. However, as with any process, the best results are observed by individuals that fulfill specific standards.  This procedure may be right for you if:

  • You are unhappy with a weary, angry or old look of your eyes Brought on by excess, sagging skin or fat around the upper or lower eyelids
  • Or, you’ve got difficulty completely opening your eyes because of excess, sagging skin
  • And, you’re otherwise in good health

If lines such as crow’s feet, frown lines, or heavy brow furrows would be your main concern, eyelid operation likely will not help as much. All these “expression lines” are brought on by repetitive facial movements, not excessive skin. BOTOX or Dysport injections would be the best bet to take care of these symptoms of aging.

Prepared to rejuvenate your own eyes?

Wondering if an eyelid liftsurgery may enable you to get the refreshed appearance you desire? To find out contact Dr. Sheffield, a board certified plastic surgeon, to discuss your questions and find out about all of your choices with a customized treatment plan –and that is precisely what you will receive through a cosmetic consultation at SB Aesthetics.  Call us at 805.318.3280 or contact us online to schedule an appointment.

Eyelid Surgery Santa Barbara

Dr. Sheffield is a prominent Santa Barbara plastic surgeon who specializes in eyelid surgery and non-surgical facial rejuvenation. Some of our patients have brought forth interesting and detailed questions about upper eyelid surgery, otherwise known as upper blepharoplasty, and eye bags treatment.

: Fillers for Under Eye Hollowness and Dark Circles?

I’m a 27 year old model. Since my teenage years I’ve suffered from under eye tear throughs problem. I also have some puffiness in the lower eyelid which doesn’t bother me. The hollowness doesn’t bother me either.

What bothers me is the blue vein you clearly see which give me persistent dark circles. My skin is really thin but I know there is no skin discoloration. When I scrunch my skin together, the dark circle disappears. What I want is just a minimal filler (buffer) between my skin and the vein to get rid of the blue shade. Am I a good candidate?

: Good question and thank you for the photo that you attached! Based on what I have observed from the photo that you have attached, the dark circles may actually be brought about the hollowness from your under eye. A dermal filler may be injected in the area where there is hollowness. Once this under eye hollowness is improved, your dark circles will be reduced significantly as well. Teosyal may be used for this case since this filler has nutrients that can help in minimizing discoloration.

You may also benefit from other fillers such as hyaluronic acid fillers. Such fillers can provide a smoother and more natural result compared to other fillers. Injecting some in the hollowed under eye can help add volume to it. Hyaluronic acid fillers are awesome since they are easily reversible and very easy to use. They also have very little downtime.

: How Do I Get Rid of Eye Bags?

My under eye bags make me look tired at all times. Is eyelid surgery the only way I can get rid of eye bags!

: Thank you for that question. Eye bags appear when facial volume is lost and fat pads show up in the lower lids. Previously, the only method to improve or remove eye bags is through blepharoplasty. Blepharoplasty is a kind of surgery that repairs droopy eyelids. This surgery works by removing the extra fat in the lower eyelid area.

Having said that, technology and science has progressed immensely over the years and the process of improving eye bags has also improved. Instead of removing the excess fat in the lower eyelid, this fat is preserved and lost volume is replaced. This process involves non-surgical methods such as dermal filler injections. Restylane is one dermal filler, which should resolve eye bags. Moreover, only a small amount of this filler is needed to regain a well-rested and youthful appearance of the eyes. Filler injection treatment usually lasts for roughly 15 minutes. It is painless and the results show up almost immediately. With a good injector, filler injection is deemed effective and safe.

So, if you are interested in having your eye bags taken care of, consult a board certified plastic surgeon who has already performed filler injections. Inquire about the results of their previous treatment so you can be sure that you are dealing with a skilled injector. Hope this answers your question!

Brow Lift or Eyelid Surgery And Other Alternatives

In our association with patients, we receive inquiries regarding brow lift or eyelid surgery for saggy eyelids and different concerns. Both eyelid surgery and the brow lift are enormous name techniques, yet what precisely they do isn’t as clear to the overall population. We’d like to get a kick out of the chance to clear up some of the misinformation.

In this article, we’ll clarify what a brow lift is and what sort of patients it’s best for. Causes of droopy eyelids will be discussed and best and safest ways in which patients can remedy such droopy eyelids to make a a determination of whether brow lift or eyelid surgery is right for you.

WHAT IS A BROW LIFT?

Brow lift: also known as eyelid reconstruction or forehead lift, can give the patient a younger, fresher look by removing wrinkles from the forehead, and raising the position of the eyebrow through the use of less invasive and none-obvious surgical procedure.

Brow lift surgical procedure is done with an entry point or cuts over the forehead with an endoscope and the manipulation of the facial muscles, tissue and bones around the forehead.

WHO SHOULD GET A BROW LIFT?

Numerous patients search out an eyebrow lift to treat sagging brows or sunken eyelids. The eyebrows are repositioned with small incisions to make the face tighter and less droopy.

Patients that have drooping eyelids as well as brows commonly have at least one of the accompanying issues:

1. They were conceived with low, drooping brows.

2. Their brows have hung somewhat with age.

3. They have additional skin or fat in their upper eyelids.

4. They have ptosis, a condition that keeps the eyelid from opening as wide as it should.

Every one of the four of these issues can cause sagging eyelids, however we’ll concentrate on the initial three. The initial three points raised above are likely to get more awful the older we get, in light of the fact that the fat beneath our eyebrows contracts, or flattens, as we grow older. Be that as it may, we need to repeat that this procedure is extremely slight.  When we educate other doctors about using brow lift or eyelid surgery, we regularly demonstrate these photos of ourselves to outline exactly how brows droop after some time:

Going back to the initial three issues we depicted above, which deteriorate with age. Different doctors treat these issues in various ways, yet more much of the time, brow lifts are used for the first issue– brows that have dependably been low. Why? After some time, specialists’ instruments and inclinations have changed. Presently, specialists frequently want to utilize non-surgical systems or eyelid surgery to adjust additional skin, since they feel that more regular looking outcomes can be accomplished with less invasive procedures. This is the vision at our practice.

WHAT ARE THE ALTERNATIVES TO A BROW LIFT?

At our practice, patients can settle drooping eyelids and additionally sagging brows with a scope of techniques.

On the off chance that your brows have started to hang with age (#2 above), dermal fillers or potentially Botox may give an answer. These are both non-obtrusive systems that include practically zero downtime. Here’s the means by which they work:

1. Dermal fillers can help settle drooping upper eyelids by reestablishing lost volume to the brows. This gives them the regular fullness they once had, which at that point lifts the eyelids somewhat and makes them look as they did when you were younger.

2. Botox can fix drooping upper eyelids by relaxing the muscles that draw down on your brows when your face is very still. Truly there are muscles “pulling” down on your brows and also muscles holding them up. After some time, the base muscles can overwhelm the upper muscles, pulling your brows and eyelids down to a listing position. Be that as it may, once Botox is added, your brows can now rise slightly to a more stylishly satisfying position, lifting your drooping eyelid skin up with them.

For patients with additional skin as well as fat in their upper eyelids (#3 above), we normally recommend upper eyelid surgery. In this surgery, we evacuate or reposition tissue in the drooping eyelids to give them smooth, young forms. This outcomes in a more invigorated, alluring appearance for the patient without the need to move the brows from the position at which they’ve generally refreshed. Thus, we trust patients are more averse to look “like they’ve had work done” when they get eyelid surgery rather than a brow lift, and consequently, we prescribe eyelid surgery to those patients for whom it is a suitable alternative.

The measure of time it takes to recuperate from eyelid surgeries and brow lifts relies upon the people and the techniques utilized, however when all is said in done, the two strategies have equivalent recuperation times. To know more about forehead or eyebrow surgery, and also cost and time for recuperation, check through our eyebrow/eyelid surgery page.

THE BOTTOM LINE

When confronting drooping brows and eyelids, numerous patients ponder whether they ought to get a brow lift or eyelid surgery, and possibly alternate procedures. While the brow lift can be an extraordinary choice for patients with normally low brows, we trust that dermal fillers, Botox, as well as eyelid surgery are a superior course of treatment for generally patients. These medicines can settle drooping around there while keeping the brows as close as conceivable to their normal positions.

In spite of the fact that there is not a viable replacement for a discussion with a qualified corrective specialist, we trust this article has helped you consider these strategies and measure your choices!

:How to Repairs my Hallow/sunken Eyes?

My eyes are so hollowed. i’ve turn 20 and look like in my 40s. i hate this look. i’ve got exam coming up and i can’t focus on it due to my look. i am so embarrassed to go outside or even face my friend. i hate my face. people tell me to be happy but i can’t even after trying so hard because i keep worrying. i tried all home rem ides to solve it. i do have 7.5 to 8 hours sleep. i drink lots water. i think this could be genetic but i really want way out of this problem. please give me some advice.

: Thank you for your inquiry and for posting an image for us to reference to. About your concern, you mentioned that you want to have your sunken eyes improved so that the hollowness is repaired. To start off, we need to get an idea as to what the root of the issue is. Hollowness or sunken eyes may be caused by a number of factors. You are right, it could be genetics, but it could also be lifestyle, age, and environment. That said, your attending surgeon, may need to assess you properly to identify the best treatment for your sunken eyes and hollowness.

Based on the photo that you have provided, I can tell that there is some fat loss on both the upper lid and the lower lid. This fat loss is the reason for the shadowing and irregular contour on the area. Moreover, the purplish hue of the skin surrounding the lids may possibly be caused by heredity. However, I cannot tell for sure since I am only looking at a photo. Generally speaking, there are possible treatment methods that could be used to treat hollowness in the eye area. My preferred treatment method for this would be via dermal fillers such as Juvederm or Restylane. These are hyaluronic acid fillers that can help add volume that will result to a natural and smooth skin. Once the hollowness is filled, the dark discoloration may lighten up a bit. It can then be managed using other treatment methods for lightening the skin. Hope this is helpful!
